Renee Lyons
Renee Lyons is a versatile and highly regarded actor, writer and theatre-maker, with a career spanning both stage and screen. A graduate of Unitec Performing Arts School, she moves easily between drama and comedy, bringing a grounded and highly engaging quality to her performances.
She has worked with many of the country’s leading theatre companies, including Silo Theatre, Auckland Theatre Company and Court Theatre; and over the years has also developed and performed her own materials. On screen, Renee has appeared in a wide range of local and international productions, credits include the vastly different in tone M3GAN and The Convert, and closer to home Rurangi, Creamerie, Westside and Shortland Street.
Alongside her acting, Renee is an accomplished writer and creator. Her critically acclaimed solo show Nick: An Accidental Hero toured nationally and internationally, with seasons in both Melbourne and Edinburgh, and her work has been recognised with multiple Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards. As a maker and writer, she brings the same clarity, humour and insight as she does to her performance work.
