Renee Lyons

Renee Lyons is a versatile and highly regarded actor, writer and theatre-maker, with a career spanning both stage and screen. A graduate of Unitec Performing Arts School, she moves easily between drama and comedy, bringing a grounded, and highly engaging quality to her performances.

She has built a substantial body of work across many of the country’s leading theatre companies, including Silo Theatre, Auckland Theatre Company and Circa Theatre, as well as developing and performing her own materials. On screen, Renee is a familiar presence across a wide range of local and international productions, with credits including M3GAN, The Convert, Rurangi, Creamerie, Westside and Shortland Street.

Alongside her acting, Renee is an accomplished writer and creator. Her critically acclaimed solo show Nick: An Accidental Hero toured nationally and internationally, with seasons in both Melbourne and Edinburgh, and her work has been recognised with multiple Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards. As a maker and writer, she brings the same clarity, humour and insight as she does to her performance work.
