Chanel Edwards

Chanel Edwards (Ngāi Tahu) is an emerging actor and graduate of The Actors’ Programme (TAP). Prior to TAP, she spent three years studying theatre and film at Victoria University in Wellington, building a strong theoretical foundation alongside her practical training.

Chanel has extensive touring experience, having performed nationally across two consecutive years with Ugly Shakespeare and Sexwise. These seasons have made her confident on stage and skilled at working directly with audiences, learning how to keep long-running shows fresh and responsive, performance after performance. She places real value on staying stage-fit and on forming a genuine connection with audiences.

Alongside her stage work Chanel is building her screen craft, with a recent guest role on Shortland Street. Always bringing her sense of play and authenticity to her work, she moves comfortably between comedy and drama, and continues to build a versatile and grounded performance practice.
