Cassidy Kemp-Woffenden
Cassidy is an emerging actor and artist who recently graduated from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School. Prior to Toi, she spent a year studying filmmaking at Te Pūkenga and was twice the recipient of Best Film as well as Best Director at the Ara Broadcasting School Shorts Competition.
On stage Cassidy recently played the titular Mr. Burns in Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play directed by Stella Reid and The First Lady in ‘Fucking A’ , directed by Keagan Carr-Fransch. She also enjoyed a two week season of queer clown show Naturally Curious at BATS Theatre.
Cassidy is an expressive performer with a playful, intuitive approach to her work. As a proud trans woman, she believes in the power of art to inspire change and is committed to embodying the representation she didn’t have in her youth.
