Jesse Mulligan

Jesse Mulligan is best known as the face of TV3's long running news show The Project, and now as host of Afternoons on RNZ National. He also writes weekly restaurant reviews for the NZ Herald and is has MC’d hundreds of live events around the country.

Jesse trained as a lawyer in his home town of Hamilton before a chance spot in a first timer's stand up comedy competition led his career on a different path. His stand up comedy experience lead to commercial breakfast radio then television, first as head writer and then regular panelist for hit show 7 Days.

His legal training and years of current affairs interviewing give him the credibility when hosting high-stakes significant events, whilst his comedy background enables a healthy injection of humour where appropriate. He combines all of these skills in his keynote address "Ten things I've learnt from interviewing the most interesting people in the world".
