Brenda Kendall

 

Brenda Kendall first came to prominence playing Officer Knox in the iconic Australian drama Prisoner, before going on to build an extensive body of work across screen and stage in both Australia and New Zealand.

Her screen credits range from acclaimed New Zealand films including Jane Campion’s An Angel at My Table, Peter Jackson’s Braindead and Robert Sarkies’ Out of the Blue, through to international television favourites such as Xena: Warrior Princess. More recent work includes The Brokenwood Mysteries, Shortland Street and cult comedy feature Nude Tuesday.

With a distinctive voice and inimitable character, Brenda is equally at home in drama, comedy and genre projects. Her longevity in the industry reflects the breadth of her experience, and the consistency and authenticity she brings to every role.
